Investment
in Character Presentation Training
Have you been to Training? Been to one of our Council Camps or District Camporees? Talked with your District Executive to help your unit with a problem? Participated in a District Event like Race Day? Gotten info from the records at the Council Office? Did you know our Council provides Insurance for your Chartered Organizations? Did you think it was all funded from your yearly registration fee or the small fees paid at events? It's NOT! It costs an average of $150 per Scout to provide these and other services. IC is starting in January and although we know not everyone can afford to give $150 we do expect 100% Participation! Give what you can! It makes a difference to your boys!
Did you know that we have a Special Needs program that helps people be a
part of Scouting who otherwise would not be able to? Imagine the site of youth
participating in a campfire for the first time, many of them in wheel chairs!
Who pays for this? WE do. Investment in Character (formally Friends of Scouting or FOS) is the yearly fundraiser for our Districts and Council. It helps support funding for our Council Campgrounds, Training Programs for Adults and Boys, Accident Insurance for Youth, Liability Insurance for Adult Leaders, Unit Re-charter Materials, Special Events and Activities, Scholarships for Youth Camping etc., Council Service Center and Staff, Professional Staff, Special Recognition for Youth and Adults. and much more.
